Junior Doctors High School Program
Ever wondered how tiny changes in DNA can cause disease—or how scientists are learning to fix them? Join our Junior Doctor Program – Human Diseases: From DNA to Chromosome for a fun and engaging experience exploring the secrets of genetics and human health!
In this interactive workshop, students will examine glowing cells under a fluorescence microscope, extract their own DNA, and investigate real medical cases such as sickle cell disease and cancer. Through hands-on activities, Q&A, and group challenges, you’ll learn how gene mutations affect protein function and how technologies like gene editing are transforming modern medicine.
Students will:
Learn how gene mutations affect protein function
Explore conditions such as sickle cell disease and cancer
Extract your own DNA
Observe cells under a fluorescence microscope
Ask questions and participate in discussions
Come think like a physician-scientist, invite and work with friends, and discover how molecular biology helps doctors fight disease! 🧬🔬
No prior laboratory experience is required—just curiosity and an interest in science.
