About Us
When my children were in high school, we searched widely for substantive summer research opportunities and learned that such programs were limited and extremely competitive. Through a selective process, they later participated in the Simons Summer Research Program at Stony Brook University, an experience they continue to describe as transformative.
Over the past several years, I have had the privilege of working with students and educators in biomedical research and education, and I have been inspired by students’ love of learning and their remarkable achievements. Together, these experiences shaped a clear vision: the need for a platform that supports high-quality learning in biotechnology, biomedical research, and health-related fields.
This independent organization was established to provide educational opportunities for students from elementary through high school. The Institute operates independently from other institutions within the Texas Medical Center.
