We are creating student-led book clubs where students of all ages can form their own groups and organize their own reading and discussion activities. Younger students are welcome to participate with the support of their parents. Our goal is to build a joyful and inclusive reading community that encourages curiosity, confidence, and communication.
Reading has always mattered deeply to me. When I interview medical or BS/MD applicants and a student shares the books they have read about medicine, I am genuinely impressed. Many of my colleagues feel the same way. Well-read students often develop deeper thinking, broader perspectives, and a stronger sense of curiosity. Reading is a lifelong journey, and one that can be meaningfully nurtured early on.
