Submission Deadline: October 20, 2026 β’ Rolling Review
The BioMedEdu STEM Video Challenge invites students who have participated in BioMedEdu programs to create a short video sharing their experiences.
Our goal is to give students an opportunity to reflect on what they have learned, tell their own stories, develop their science communication skills, and inspire other students to explore biomedical science, research, and STEM opportunities.Β
Your video does not need to be professionally produced. We want to hear your authentic voice and experienceβwhat you did, what you learned, what you enjoyed, how you grew, and what you would tell another student who is considering participating in a BioMedEdu program.
Submission Deadline: October 20, 2026
Videos may be submitted at any time before the deadline and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
You do not need to wait until October 20 to submit! Videos will be evaluated as they are received, and selected videos may be recognized and featured on BioMedEdu's website, YouTube, Instagram, newsletter, and other program communications throughout the submission period.
We encourage you to submit early so we can begin sharing and celebrating your stories!
The BioMedEdu STEM Video Challenge is designed primarily for students who have participated in BioMedEdu programs, including ASPIRATION, the High School Student Symposium, hands-on laboratory and research programs, and other BioMedEdu educational activities.
Create a 30β60 second video sharing your BioMedEdu experience. There is no single right way to tell your story. You might share:
A memorable experience or favorite moment
Something new you learned or a skill you developed
A research topic or scientific concept that interested or inspired you
Your experience working with mentors, teammates, or other students
How you grew in confidence, communication, teamwork, or scientific thinking
How your BioMedEdu experience influenced your interest in science, medicine, research, or another STEM field
What you would tell another student considering a BioMedEdu program
Most importantly, be yourself and tell your own story. Share what the experience meant to you and what might inspire another student.
New to BioMedEdu? You are also welcome to submit a short video introducing your STEM interests and career goals and sharing which BioMedEdu program you would like to participate in and why. If the program you are looking for is not currently available, tell us what you would love to see BioMedEdu offer in the future.Β
Students may also explore the Congressional Award STEM opportunities, including its STEM video opportunities for eligible students.Β

An important goal of this challenge is to share student experiences and inspire other young people to explore STEM opportunities.
By submitting a video, students agree to allow BioMedEdu to share their video publicly, including on our website, YouTube and Instagram channels, newsletter, and other program and outreach materials.
A media release form will be included with the video submission. For students under 18, the form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian before the video can be publicly shared.
Selected videos may be featured on:
BioMedEdu Website β’ YouTube Channel β’ Instagram β’ Newsletter β’ Program and Outreach Materials
We also encourage you to share your video on your own social media accounts and tag or mention @instituteofbiomededu on Instagram. Sharing your experience can help other students discover opportunities and see what participating in a BioMedEdu program can be like.
This challenge is about more than making a video. It is an opportunity to reflect on your experience, practice communicating with a broader audience, celebrate what you accomplished, and inspire other students to explore science and STEM.
